ECO 4332 International Finance
Instructor, Spring 2025 and 2026
Details
International finance examines the determination of exchange rates, international capital movements, and the financial decisions of firms operating across borders. I split this course into three components: (i) Exchange Rates and Open-Economy Macroeconomics - developing the tools needed to understand exchange-rate movements, balance-of-payments adjustment, and monetary policy; (ii) International Financial Management - studying currency exposure, hedging, the international cost of capital, and cross-border investment decisions; and (iii) Global Financial Markets and Policy - examining reserve management, financial institutions, crises, and current developments in international markets.
Student evaluations were available for Spring 2025 and Spring 2026. Spring 2025 received 5 responses from 20 possible respondents, while Spring 2026 received 15 responses from 30 possible respondents. Selected end-of-term comments, lightly edited only for spelling and punctuation, appear below.
